We will develop the content in a main project on new models for managing large protected areas and surrounding areas with more weight on public participation  and soft business development. By doing so we hope to improve the quality of managing the protected areas, increasing the local support for nature protection and supporting local business development. We will work together with two case areas in Sogn og Fjordane: Mørkrisdalen (just started on the formal nature protection process) and Aurland (just started a project on developing a Norwegian model for regional park.
