Description of subject:
This call for tender encompasses the performance of a literature review, and conducting quality assurance (critical review) of a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of ethanol-blended gasoline transport.  This is part of a European Economic Area (EEA) project entitled: Influence of bioethanol fuels treatment for operational performance, ecological properties and GHG emissions of spark ignition engine (BIOTRETH). 

The recipient of this call for tender will perform a literature review (5-10 pages) pertaining to the state-of-the-art in life-cycle assessment of ethanol-blended gasoline transport.  Particular attention should focus on bio-ethanol additives and the presence of weaknesses with current life-cycle assessment: inventory data, methods and results on the subject of ethanol blended gasoline transport.

In addition, the recipient will fulfil the role of external quality assurance (critical review) for a life-cycle assessment performed by Vestlandsforsking as part of the BIOTRETH project. 

As such, applicants should both possess an understanding of biofuels use in transport from a life-cycle assessment perspective, and more importantly the methodological framework of LCA and LCA software.
